Ruyter Suys is one of the hottest and filthiest female guitarists ever.
Weapon of Choice: The Gibson SG

Grammy nominated guitarist, Ruyter Suys of the Southern hard rock band Nashville Pussy has officially joined Dick Delicious and the Tasty Testicles. “Ruyter Suys is now a full member of Dick Delicious and the Tasty Testicles. It is official, she is a Tasty Testicle now. I guess she is more of a Palatable Pussy than a Tasty Testicle though” stated Dick Delicious frontman Richard Delicious.

Dick Delicious and the Tasty Testicles has just finished recording its’ latest opus “A Vulgar Display of Obscurity”. The album features guest appearances by Brent Hinds, Troy Sanders and Bill Killiher from Mastodon and Kevin Sharp from Brutal Truth.

Career Highpoint: The point of every live Nashville Pussy gig when lead singer Blaine Cartwright pulls Ruyter's head back - while she's on her knees mind you - and forces a bottle of beer down her throat as she proceeds to guzzle its entire barley-based contents.
Fun Fact: She claims that the reason why she plays guitar is because of Courtney Love - not because Love's her idol, but for the opposite reason. "Courtney gives women a bad name in rock 'n roll and uses her guitar as a necklace not as an instrument." She follows that statement up with this: "Being a woman in a band can be hard sometimes because people will never
look at me for my musicianship, they'll always look at the boobs." Did I mention she only plays gigs in lace bras and leather pants and the leather pants usually come off mid-set? Contradictions are incredibly sexy.
Saturday's (April 23) "Big Four" concert at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio
This past weekend, Rock history was made. The four bands acknowledged as the most influential in the history of Thrash Metal assembled to recreate that which was seen on their double-platinum selling DVD: The Big 4.
The all-day festival featured the so-called "Big Four" bands of 1980s thrash metal — METALLICA, SLAYER, ANTHRAX and MEGADETH — sharing the stage in the U.S. for the first time ever, drawing an estimated 50,000 people.
"This is history tonight and you're part of it," Metallica frontman James Hetfield told the crowd Saturday at the Empire Polo Fields in Indio, California. "Anthrax, Megadeth, Slayer and Metallica as one — with you!"

Hetfield, Mustaine and Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian all referred to the event as "history" during the seven-hour concert. The backstage area was packed with members of bands like Alice in Chains, Sum 41, Dream Theater, New Found Glory, Throwdown and Fireball Ministry along with former MTV "Headbanger's Ball" host Riki Rachtman, MMA fighter Josh Barnett, comedian Brian Posehn and all three hosts of VH1 Classic's "That Metal Show" — Eddie Trunk, Don Jamieson and Jim Florentine.

In introducing the members of the other three bands immediately prior to the "Am I Evil?" performance, METALLICA frontman James Hetfield said, "Can you believe it? Thirty years, man. I don't know how many of you have been around that long, you know?! It doesn't matter; you're here right now to see the 'Big Four,' and we're getting this prepared for a big jam, alright? It's pretty important.

"We just wanna take the time to say 'thank you' to all of you metal fans out there who have supported all the bands — not only the 'Big Four,' but the big however many out there. There's many, many other bands that have been around as long as us, and, unfortunately, broke up because of business or some other crap. There's a lot of great bands out there and we'd like to celebrate all of them, and especially the 'Big Four', getting out here and jamming, and just saying 'thank you' to the world of metal fans for just giving us your support, giving us your heart and giving us your passion, man, 'cause that's what it is for us."

Metallica headlined the big show and began their set with "For Whom the Bell Tolls," a great start to their 2-hour set. Hetfield and co. played a lot of their most popular songs and included other surprises, like the long instrumental "Orion." The set wrapped up with "Nothing Else Matters," of course. Then, for the encore, Hetfield brought most of the day's players out for a giant rendition of "Am I Evil?"

Hetfield looked out into the crowd during the last song and mused, "Can you believe it? Thirty years, man. I don't know how many of you have been around that long. It doesn't matter. You're here now."

Regardless, with the rally towels on full spin cycle, the Sharks entered the ice through the yeah-it’s-a-little-dated-but-it’s-staying-so-save-it smoking shark mouth to “Seek and Destroy,” which had to please none other than James Hetfield himself who was sitting rinkside.

If that doesn’t convince you that Mangin has metal cred, then how about an endorsement from a metal god? In 2008, Rolling Stone Magazine asked Metallica front man James Hetfield, “Who are you listening to?” His response surprised even Mangin.

“There's a DJ on [Sirius] named José who is so in love with metal – he's like a friggin' firecracker,” Hetfield said.
All four bands have many successes to celebrate, but Metallica clearly have earned their headlining slot. Their 1991 self-titled "Black Album" has sold over 15 million copies in the U.S. alone, and their appearance at the Big 4 event boasted fireworks, fire, a two-story stage and an extra video screen that were all absent during the previous three acts' performances.

James Hetfield is a fantastic metal singer. He created that gravelly metal voice that fans and musicians all love.

James Hetfield is the voice among other things of Metallica's songs, but it wasn't always planned that way. In the early days Metallica tried a few different vocal/guitar configurations.

Metallica rock star James Hetfield, who two years ago stirred controversy by erecting a fence blocking a popular trail that cut across his 600-acre Rocking H 2 Ranch, wants to subdivide the lower part of his Lucas Valley property to provide 34 home sites.

Some of the experiments included adding another guitar player, or having then lead guitar player Dave Mustaine play the sole guitar. John Bush from Armored Saint was even asked to sing for the band at one point. Hetfield was born to a truck driver and light opera singer on August 3rd, 1963 in Los Angeles. His family's Christian Science religious beliefs are often mentioned as the root of James' "tortured soul" lyrics. Musically, he began at age 9 with piano lessons, then banging away on his brother David's drums and finally to guitar. With his guitar in hand, James aspired to become a rock star in his first band, Obsession.

The band was made up of the Veloz brothers on bass and drums and Jim Arnold on guitar. A pair of friends, Ron McGovney and Dave Marrs, acted as the band's roadies. This meant sitting in the loft of the Veloz garage running a control panel for makeshift lighting effects. After Obsession broke up, the Marrs-Hetfield-McGovney trio continued jamming together.

In "Blackened," James Hetfield touches on that lyrically. Even though they're a metal band, they talk about how fucked up the government is and they address real issues. When they played Russia for the first time, it was incredible. They were connected to it because they were writing about the man. They're a metal band with a message and deeper meaning.

Guitars are a major part of his life and he has started collecting older guitars. particularly those manufactured in 1963, the year he was born. He can also be found in his garage working on a new passion hot rods. He currently has a Chevy BelAir that he built himself. James in recent years has taken to the rock 'n' roll fashion of getting "inked" he now sports many many tattoos some of which are pictured below.
ChordBankPro will raise the bar for chord apps beyond just translating the kinds of diagrams we all grew up with in books to a little screen in your pocket. For the first time, an app will tell you not just how to play a chord, but why you should play that chord. It’s really a huge step forward in translating some of the great things we can figure out on an iPhone to some of the great things users want to do in real life on the guitars.

Like the Genius button in Apple’s own iTunes and iPod apps, ‘Smart Chords’ suggests chords that go well together. The app draws on popular chord changes to generate dozens of chord progressions for each of the thousands of chords in ChordBankPro.

The ‘Smart Chords’ feature swings the app’s virtual fretboard back like a door on hinges, exposing dozens of progressions ready to be popped into a hit song, each organized by the target chord’s ‘alias’ in a scale. The G major chord, for example, is shown in progressions as I of G major, IV of D major, or V of C major. For each progression, chords pop over the screen, with diagrams for left and right-handed guitarists, each playable with a tap.

Making that understanding accessible to all players, especially left-handed guitarists, was a key design decision that impacted every aspect of the latest release, much of which was rewritten from scratch, Ladd says.

“Smart Chords are the big, flashy new thing – that’s what everyone’s going to notice. But honestly, the thing I’m most excited about is supporting lefties,” Ladd says. “If you’re left handed, you string your guitar exactly opposite from a right-handed person, and so all the chords need to be flipped around, too.”

American hard rock band Duff Mckagan’s Loaded’s album “The Taking” is released on April 19, 2011 via Eagle Records. A feature length film about the album, as well as Loaded, by filmmaker and documentarian Jamie Burton Chamberlin is currently being filmed, with the album serving as the films soundtrack.

Duff McKagan said, "I really can’t say that I’m influenced by one thing or another when I write songs. I don’t even listen to one type of music more than another. I think it’s just being on the road seeing all bands perform live, from Slipknot to Sound Track of Our Lives, which is a wide range of styles. It’s really live bands that influence me".

"We also have a little known first CD from 2000. After a few starts and stops we made a group effort in 2008 to write and record Sick. We said to ourselves, we’ve been a band for eight years, let’s see if we can find a something that’s a culmination of those shared years. I’m really proud of the song writing on Sick. It was really fresh. We made it in two and a half days of preproduction."

At the time of energy in Velvet Revolver will tilt and it was nice to be involved in something with a group of fresh and vibrant, and it was not the least of Velvet Revolver. That's just how life goes. They go out touring and did not have much help from the record company.

The tour actually confirmed them as a band. They come from the street with all the songs or at least part of the song that made The Taking. Loaded directly into the studio and start demoing them, with the energy from the top left of the high caffeine, testosterone, loneliness, happiness, sadness, and madness. These songs are the temptations of what happened on the road.
‘The Taking’ is not just an album, it’s a bold statement from McKagan. While Velvet Revolver look for a new singer and DJ Ashba looks for Axl Rose backstage well past stage time, Duff brings back what has so far been considered his ‘side project’ and releases the record Chinese Democracy should have been. ‘The Taking’ is an album that is not afraid to dive into commercial territory and back out again, an album that proudly displays the ageless passion and experience of his creators and sets in stone Duff McKagan’s iconic status – a status Guns’n’Roses are today only a small part of.
They have some dates in the UK and Europe in open June to Judas Priest and Ozzy Osbourne. Then in August they have run in these countries.

The Black Sabbath 'Born Again' album sleeve was designed under extraordinary circumstances; basically what had happened was that Sharon and Ozzy had split very acrimoniously from her fathers (Don Arden) management and record label. He subsequently decided that he would wreak his revenge by making Black Sabbath (whom he managed) the best heavy metal band in the world, which, of course they are but back then in the early '80's they weren't quite the International megastars that they had been in the '70's. His plans included recruiting Ian Gillan, who was, at the time, a solo artist and former singer for Deep Purple.

Gillan had first turned down the offer to join Sabbath but his manager later convinced him to have a meeting with guitarist Tony Iommi and bassist Geezer Butler. The two Sabs met with Gillan at The Bear public house in Oxford, and Gillan officially joined the band in February 1983. Released in October 1983, “Born Again” was a commercial success. It was the highest-charting Sabbath album in the United Kingdom since 1973’s “Sabbath Bloody Sabbath,” and became an American Top 40 hit. Despite this, it became the first Sabbath release to not have any RIAA certification (gold or platinum) in the U.S.

  • Tony Iommi - Lead Guitar & Flute
  • Geezer Butler - Bass
  • Ian Gillan - Vocals
  • Bill Ward - Drums
  • Geoff Nicholls - Keyboards
  • Produced by Robin Black & Black Sabbath
  • Engineered by Robin Black & Steve Chase
  • Mastered for CD by Hans Brethouwer
  • Recorded at The Manor Studio, Shipton on Cherwell, Oxfordshire, England

Early blues music was not clearly defined in terms of which chord progressions were used. There were no formal blues guitar lessons, no typical methodology for learning the music. The first blues sheet music was published in 1912. "Dallas Blues" by Hart Ward was followed by W.C.Handy's "Memphis Blues". The origins of the blues dates was several decades earlier. Earlier works were not preserved however, partially because of the discrimination against Blacks even in academic circles. Despite having no recorded music, early musicians often taught themselves by following the lead of older musicians. While not formal blues guitar lessons, the genre was preserved as it was passed among musicians.

Modern music owes much to blues musicians like "Muddy Waters", "Howlin' Wolf" and other artists who migrated to Chicago from Mississippi in the 1950's. Their music, dubbed "electric blues" relied on bass guitars, harmonicas and drums. The influx of rural Blacks to urban areas fostered the growth of a new market for the music industry. The style was dubbed "Rhythm and Blues". Rock'n Roll, Jazz and Rhythm and Blues all began to enjoy more commercial success with this migration to the cities.

If you want to learn to play the guitar then you should look at learning the techniques of the blues guitar with a blues guitar lesson or two. The thing is that the blues is considered the root of all music. From its humble beginnings believed to be back in Africa, the sounds of the blues were sung out by the plantation workers ( slaves) who lived in the Mississippi Delta. At night these sounds were interpreted on stage by a number of great blues musicians included some notable guitarists. These night time jaunts took place at the "juke joints" that were once the mainstay of nightly entertainment for these plantation workers all throughout the state of Mississippi.
