Within Temptation are gearing up for a worldwide tour in 2012 in order to promote the new record and recently announced that axeman Robert Westerholt would not be joining them on tour in order to care for the three children that he shares with frontwoman Sharon den Adel. For the time being, longtime friend of the band Stefan Helleblad will step in as guitarist.
‘The Unforgiving’ is Within Temptation’s fifth studio album, which was produced by Daniel Gibson. The album has been topping music charts all across the board and sold about 12,000 copies in the U.S. during its first week of release.
Metallica is celebrating its 30th anniversary. The quartet will perform four shows in December at the Fillmore in San Francisco. But, tickets are only being offered to members of the band's official fan club and, they'll be very affordable. Four-ticket packs, which consist of one ticket for each show, are $19.81- the price was meant to honor the year the band was formed, 1981 and single-show tickets are $6 dollars!

Even better are the super-low ticket prices. According to the band's website, fans can "participate in the entire week of festivities with special four pack tickets (one ticket for each of the four shows) and automatic entry into the contests for various other special events, available for the clever price of $19.81 (get it??).
"If you can't join us for the full week, we'll have individual show tickets too and as you can see we're going back to early '80s ticket pricing (but not the hair!). Single show tickets will be just $6.00 each. Both four packs and individual show tickets will be available for Fan Club members only through a reservation system and we do have to add facility fees, blah, blah."
Of course, there's the catch: you have to join the Met Club before you have a shot at buying tickets. On the other hand, $45 isn't so bad if you do indeed get into one or all of these special shows (bear in mind the 'reservation system').
The concert was deemed so successful, a live concert was released to theatres, followed by a 5-CD/2-DVD set. The event was re-staged April 23 in Indio, Calif., and will complete its run Sept. 14 at Yankee Stadium in New York.

Not that fans would ever notice any rustiness from the goateed Slayer guitarist. He plays fast and technical enough to convince just about anyone of his immense ability, even when he hasn't found his tour legs.
King said he hopes to have a key piece of the Slayer puzzle back in action for Yankee Stadium: founding guitarist Hanneman, who is currently off the road due to a spider bite-induced bout of flesh-eating disease. He has been replaced in recent months by Exodus guitarist Gary Holt, whose band also opens for Slayer and Rob Zombie this week on the Hell on Earth Tour.
Nonetheless, the guitarist -- who has undergone skin grafts to repair the damage -- has Yankee Stadium in his sights. King said. "I know he's been playing, I know he's been writing. But that's far different than a Slayer stage. I know he wants to [come back for Yankee Stadium] but I also know he's not sure if he is physically capable of standing up there for an hour and 10 minutes. These are things we'll have to sort out between now and then."
Slayer has left little to question in terms of its legacy. The group has recorded 11 studio albums, a handful of which are deemed essential in the metal canon. Slayer's two recent recordings, 2006's Christ Illusion and 2009's World Painted Blood, are considered highlights of their catalogue, proof that the group has plenty left in the tank.
Slayer's tour with Zombie is the first between the two groups in over a decade, so fans can expect something special from both, according to King. The set by Zombie and his ghoulish group will be heavy on the props, which leaves little time for an extensive changeover between sets. Though it's a co-headlining tour, King has been told that Slayer will close most dates in Canada.

Dilan Kohn met Kiss at the Spokane Arena and has been a fan since he turned 9.
“Every time I listen to it I just imagine being at a Kiss concert,” Dilan said. “His face just perks up, he immediately sticks out his tongue,” said Paul Kohn, Dilan’s father.
The band spent those almost ten minutes with Dilan and a few other fans, and Kiss took photos and signed autographs before heading onto stage to make their money.
The Kiss visit also helped cheer up Dilan’s pop. Last year Paul was in the hospital for weeks so Dilan decided to make Paul Kiss figurines to help cheer him up. Paul said that for Dilan “to make something for me to make me feel better while I was sick, just made me feel great.”

Van Halen noted that he created his Frankenstein or Frankenstrat guitar in 1975 when he realized no existing guitar had the features he wanted for his sound. The guitar was recently donated to the Smithsonian National Museum of American History.
He said of the donation: "I wanted to pay some respect to it and let it survive and not let it get destroyed completely. At the same time it became something so well known beyond my wildest dreams that it's value made it a target for theft and I wanted to protect it. I still play it every now and then. I really like that high fast stuff you do.' It was a lot of fun to do. It's crazy that something could take such a short amount of time and can grow into something beyond anything you could ever imagine."

VAN HALEN is reportedly mixing its long-awaited new album for a fall release, which is when the band is also expected to hit the road in support of the effort.
VAN HALEN staged a successful reunion tour with Roth in 2007 and 2008, with rumors of a new album persisting since then. The group began recording in January with producer John Shanks.
VAN HALEN's last full album, "Van Halen III", came out in 1998 and featured the only appearance of EXTREME singer Gary Cherone as lead vocalist.

Ginger – real name David Walls – is the lead singer of cult British band The Wildhearts.
They’ve also enjoyed success in the Far East over the past 20 years, performing regularly to sell-out crowds in the likes of Tokyo and Osaka.
The flame-haired singer-songwriter, whose hits include I Wanna Go Where The People Go, has decided to put his iconic and heavily-stickered Gibson Les Paul electric guitar under the hammer to raise money for the British Red Cross.
He said: “I bought this guitar around 1987, when I was asked to join New York rockers The Throbs.
“It acted as my main guitar on every tour The Wildhearts ever did, including the AC/DC Ballbreaker tour, as well as appearances with the Sex Pistols, Manic Street Preachers and many more.“Often we have to give things away to get things in life, and in this case I’ll be receiving the gift of helping someone less fortunate than myself.”

A 1948 Gibson L-5P sold for $82,960, well above its presale estimate of $20,000 to $30,000. And a replica of a prized Clapton guitar that duplicates the cigarette burns and belt buckle scratches found on the original sold for $30,500 at the auction.
The sale at Bonhams New York included 75 guitars and 55 amps from the British artist's collection and brought in $2.15 million. Proceeds were to benefit a drug and alcohol treatment center Clapton founded in the West Indies.

This isn't the first time Clapton put his instruments up for auction. In 1999, he raised more than $5 million and in 2004, another $7.4 million that went toward the Crossroads Center.
More eclectic artifacts put on the auction block included a Gianni Versace three-piece suit made for Clapton's concert at the Royal Albert Hall in 1990, a black leather tote bag designed by Andrea Valentini and a signed cellular phone Clapton advertised.
The 65-year-old rocker is considered one of the world's greatest guitar players and was crowned by Rolling Stone magazine in 2004 as one of the greatest musicians of all times.

The flag drops to reveal the band clad in their ever-present BLS attire, with Zakk stood astride a mic stand consisting of chain, skulls and a crucifix. Already I’m thinking: it doesn’t get much more rock ‘n’ roll than this!
The set-list consists of tracks from across BLS’s eight album catalogue. The first half brings: “Crazy Horse”, “What’s In You”, “The Rose Petalled Garden”, “Funeral Bell”, “Overlord” and “Parade of the Dead”. Flanked by John DeServio (Bass) and Nick Catanese (Guitar), backed by Will Hunt (drums) and a vast Marshall backline, Zakk Wylde and his “brothers” prove themselves to be a brutal live act, totally appreciated by the Bristol “chapter”.
A high point of the evening is the ballad: “In This River”, Zakk's tribute to close friend and former legendary Pantera and Damageplan guitarist Dimebag Darrell, who was shot and killed onstage in 2004. Not only is this an emotional and softer moment in the set, but shows one of the best guitarists on the planet, can also play the piano like a classical veteran.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with a loud band. However, there is such a thing as “too loud” and this was the only disappointment of the night. Towards the end of the show I had moved to the back of the auditorium in the hope of a clearer sound. During “Godspeed Hellbound” and “The Blessed Hellride”, the guitar was still thick and swamped, the kick drum was still too high in the mix and the overall volume was now becoming painful on the ears.
“Suicide Messiah”, “Concrete Jungle” and “Stillborn” completed what was probably the loudest gig I have ever experienced. Those expecting an encore may have been disappointed, but in all honesty, enough was enough. However, this was a great show of rock ‘n’ roll supremacy, a fact I shall reflect on, whilst awaiting the return of my hearing.
